I-MENA Forums: Summer 2015 (Delaware, USA)- Location Updated.

The Institute for MENA Studies is hosting a forum: You are invited to participate in the Institute for MENA Forum on Middle Eastern Affairs from July 6th to July 9th, 2015. The conference will take place in the state of Delaware, USA. There are two types of participation available: a presenter or a guest (guest does not have to present, but he/she is welcome to engage in the sessions’ discussions). Guestscan secure their attendance by paying the conference fees by the dates
specified below. The presented papers may be published in the conference proceedings and in the institute publication; further information will beprovided upon accepting your paper for presentation.

Publications: The authors of the accepted papers will providea short paper, or essay, of their research. The short papers will be included ina book chapter published around August-September 2015. In addition, few authors will have the opportunity to contribute to the Annual Book of the Institute for MENA Studies by authoring a one of the book chapters with along research paper. The topic for this year is the the changes in the Middle East and North Africa. Theme: The Socio-political Paradigm Shift in the Middle East.

        Please note: Please be aware that the Institute for MENA
studies does not endorse terrorism, extremism, or civil wars. Therefore, papers
that support organizations or civil wars such as the Muslim Brotherhood (or similar
organizations), or the civil war in Syria (regardless which side it takes) will
be disqualified from reviews.

Submission Process:

·         Homeland Security and Terrorism:

o   Post-Arab Spring  Security

o   New threats to peace in the Middle East and its impact on global security

o   Sectarianism

·         Middle Eastern Cultural Issues:

o   Child Labor and Child Marriage

o   The positive impact of Middle Eastern culture

o   The history and evolution of customs and traditions in the Middle East

·         Environmental and Geographical Challenges:

o   MENA’s oil exploration and its impact on the environment.

o   Wars in the Middle East and the impact on the environment

·         Teaching Arabic as Second Language:

o   Techniques in teaching Arabic as foreign language

o   Analysis to teaching Arabic as a foreign language in the US and the West

I. Remote Guest or Remote Presenter:

·         (Extended) Payment before April 21st, 2015 $95

·         After April 21st, 2015 $159

II. Guest (non-presenter) Registration Fees WITHOUT  Meals:

·        Early Payment before April 21st, 2014 $295

·         After April 21st, 2014 $329

III. Guest (non-presenter) Registration Fees WITH Meals:

·           Early Payment before April 21st, 2015 $320

     After April 21st, 2015 $440

IV. Presenter's Registration Fee, WITHOUT Meal:

·         $ 395 Early Payment before April 21, 2015

·         $ 425 Payment after April 21, 2015

V. Presenter's Registration Fee, WITH Meals:

·         $ 450 Early Payment before April 21, 2015

·         $ 525 Payment after April 21, 2015

The Fees for Option includes the following:

·         Conference Materials (for option II – V)

·         Access to Abstracts and Papers submitted by participants (for Option I – V)

·         Reception (for Option II – V)

·         Dinner (IV & V)

·         Middle Eastern Food -LUNCH (coffee, tea, and/or cold drinks) (Option III - V)

·         Water, Tea and Coffee during the meeting (Option II – V)

Special Fees Reductions:

·         Full-time Students will be granted 10% off the published fees (Please submit student grant form). A school Email or letter of the admission and record to show your status.

·         Presenters and Guests can apply for Grants that can apply to your conference fees. Grants may be granted on case-by-case (please see attached grant form).
